![]() | MATHEW EVANSMathew Evans has more that 20 years experience as a landscape architect, 15 of which have been in Colorado. He has worked on a wide variety of landscape design projects including higher education campuses, hospitals, government facilities, schools, national wildlife refuges, commercial development, and office complexes. With an undergraduate degree in horticulture and a well developed knowledge of the native plants of this region, he has a keen interest in xeriscape design and the use of native plants in the landscape. He has also worked on five projects to date, and more ‘on the boards’, that followed the LEED TM process for ensuring environmentally responsible design solutions, and is a LEED accredited professional. He has served as project manager and lead landscape architect on projects involving master plans, facility program plans, design guidelines, and construction plans. He has successfully collaborated with other disciplines including architects, engineers, ecologists, urban planners, artists, real estate consultants and environmental consultants to ensure a seamless synthesis of ideas. He has presented to numerous design review boards and architectural control committees, and has participated in government and institutional review processes. In recent years he was an adjunct faculty member of the Landscape Architecture Program at the University of Colorado, Denver, teaching the Plants in Design Class. Over the past seven years he has attended design reviews for studio projects, and has acted as an advisor to students doing independent studies. When Mathew is not talking on the phone, he can be found on the squash court, in the garden or visiting Cool Britannia with his family. He is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Colorado and New Mexico. |
